completely irked that I am irked

I am usually not one to keep track of other peoples time. ... but for some reason this bugged me. The client service manager on my team is all bent out of shape about the fact that they are making him go up and back in one day to NY tomorrow for training. The company is trying to save money by not having he and two other people that will be in the training stay in hotels. (close to $700)... which is cheap... but that is what they are doing. So, instead of he going and talking to our regional manager (like I told him to) he just left early today and said that he won't be coming in the day after. While I don't blame him for being upset... I feel frustrated that he is handling things this way. I wish that he would either suck it up and understand that he is not going to be able to work a 9-5 job if he is wanting to work in sales, and he is sometimes going to have to work a little overtime. I wish that he would have spoken to the right people to let them know the ramifications of what they are asking them to do. While I completely simpathize with him that it sucks... he should handle it better.
